Mix of DA & 600 tricolor groupset, Nitto/piega/modolo cockpit, Open CD rims.

Picked up this lovely frame on eBay the other day. Purpose being a winter, hack around thing. I've got an old 105 groupset and some fulcrum wheels to whack on - just seeking out a beater Thomson seatpost (27.2 if anyone has one!) and waiting on stem/bars. Then I can get building! Very excited by this

thinking on a new project that wouldn't be the highest spec bike nor a Sunday best. But want it to be something a little special or different from the masses without it being something too fancy.
spotted this and am tempted:
thinking of moving my Sram group onto it and replacing sram with Ultegra purcahsed in sale... or alt put the ultegra on this.

What is it with those carbon seatstays? They're in loads of bikes from all kinds of brands.

i'm no expert but i guess it was when use of carbon was in its infancy regarding mass market bike frames and was in order to improve preformance/ride quality/make it look awesome...
i wait to be corrected!
probably now a concern due to failings?? again wait to be corrected...

probably now a concern due to failings??
No, it was simply too expensive for something that make little difference.

makes sense.
Basically i just want some encouragement from my peers to go ahead with this project. I originally wanted to build up a 90's Cannondale but cant find a suitable frame, I am inpatient and have found this. like it despite not usually liking blue bikes so someone tell me i should do it please :)

I remember those carbon stays being introduced and yes, the only reason was to make look frames more awesome than the ones that were on the market up to then.

Do it.

thank you!
do u mean it? ;)
Thanks for the tip! I will give it a go. I suppose I will still have the front brake if it fails on the road.
