I had an Elegant too, sprayed in nineties' hottest color: yellow... Nice frame but sold it quickly.

I remember that one you had. You were deliberating on fork choice and groupset. I guess you never built it up in the end.

Well spotted. Yes the Alan is still work in progress. Awaiting the groupset to arrive but have the wheels now, an unused pair of Campag (the name escapes me) with record hubs. Look lovely on it.

Built up the nuovo Mexico quickly last night, still plenty to do to it cleaning etc and instead of the saronni red super frame I built the dura ace group up onto a blue one instead My pal had just got it in and it's in much better condition than the red one so made more sense.

I was indeed deliberating carbon forks or chromed precisa on that Elegant but in the end it disturbed me that a high end frame like that looked cheap.

@rive_gauche that yellow Basso looks green to me. ;-)

Yeah looks like it. Funny I was under the same impression as you as I'd always thought that it was the Mexico that was crimped but just as @saarf said its not the case.
That's why I love the forum so. The knowledge is vast and puts us straight on our misconceptions.
Learning is fun but riding is better ;-)

Nearly finished project 1 today. Nuovo Mexico. I've not done cables yet and will likely change the stem for a black one so reused some old bar tape in the interim. I'm chuffed with the outcome (except rear SR caliper is a long reach so will have to address that)

The Super has already arrived with my pal, the master is 'in negotiation' and the Lo pro is just way too expensive but deserves to be shown.
