It'll be about 11kg.

Nice! Looking forward to seeing the finished article.

I dont know how I feel about those colour scatter cushions....
-
• #30
Na, should just be over the 10kg mark..

Callipers arrived, so just tyres, which have been dispatched by Evans.. Will need to go to my brothers anyway as he has a compressor to blow up the tubeless tyres..
-
• #32
I am surprised by the weight. I need to get mine on the scales.
-
• #33
It's the wheels, front is 720g.. never weighed the rear.. but I would say about 1500g for both.. also tubeless so will be no tubes.. :-)
-
• #34
Nice. The aksiums weigh just under 2kg...
-
• #35
Yeah, the wheels would be a fortune to build, but I gave my brother bad money for them ;-)..
Got bar tape and headset spacers at lunch and a 80mm stem.. So will sort that later.. Also bolt the callipers on..

Calipers on, just waiting on tyres from Evan cycles.. Quick question about cable routing for the back brake. does it just go under the bottom bracket between the two inner gear cables? seems a bit odd to me but nowhere else for it go..
-
• #37
Are there any bosses down the downtube on the left hand side? Not sure of yours, but my frame has little rests that the cable sits on, there's a hole under it for a cable tie to be fed through.
-
• #38
Bosses down the middle of the downtube and then one along the rear stay to the brake.. here are a couple of pics..
Callipers installed
You can just see the cable boss in the top of the photo
Rear stay - cable boss on underside of stay

Looks like that's right then. You've followed the bosses and that's the only route option. Looks good. Mine goes on the top of the downtube to the left of the bottle cage. Over the bottom brack on the non drive side then on the top of the chain stay.

Yeah my brothers 2013 CDF is the same as yours.. Just strange that it's the lowest part of the bike.. The cable is sitting on top of the plastic gear cable guides..

Pete, how did you route your cables from the shifters along the bars? are they both under the bars or to the front or spilt front and back?
-
• #42
Usually run my cables along the front of the bar. As gear cables are slimmer than brake cables, if you're running brake cable along the front may as well run the gear cable with it.
-
• #43
I had them coming from the shifter and in below to keep the bars round when my hand is resting on them.. excuse the cable length and scatter cushions :-)
Although since that pic I changed the routing location at the shifter (105 5700 has two points of exit) and ran one bind to the bottom and one to the front bottom..

• #44
I ran mine on the front of the bars. Seems to work fine. The brakes and gears are responsive. This is on 105 5800 so not much difference.
-
• #45
Like mine above? although sticking to the front more?
-
• #46
Yeah. Spot in. Cables didn't go down until after the bar tape.

All taping down last night, cables cut.. So just waiting on my tyres which RM tried to deliver to my work this morning.. Hopefully I will get them on Monday..
Although, we went trampolining this morning and within 2 mins I went over on my ankle and tore my ligaments.. So that sorts any riding for the time being.. Wick..:-(..

They've moved the rear brake routing on the new model to the topside of the downtube, over the top of the bb and along the top of the chainstsay. It is just to left of centre to avoid the bottle cage.

Got the tyres on last night, No problems with the tubeless, just popped straight out. Although the front hub seems to be un-centred on the wheel, so will get them left in to get trued / aligned.. Although I stole my brothers Shimano RX05's so bike it finished albeit with his wheels.. looking good too
The Stans with the 30mm tubeless are extremely light, 2.8kg all in for both wheels, tyres, discs, skewers and cassette..Just need my ankle to get fixed now!!

.
Got at this tonight, still waiting on callipers and tyres to arrive, also seat post and clamp (but stole this one from my day-one.. Currently sitting at 9.15kg, with tyres at 330g each (30mm Mavic tubeless) and CX77 callipers 165g each to go on, so won't be far off 10kg finished. Just need to get some headset spacers and bar tape tomorrow..
I was worried about the white hubs on the black bike, but I quite like them tying in with the genesis and CDF frame text
