Unless it's 30+ degrees and the beach is sandy I have near zero interest in detouring to a 'beach'.
Once again I am mainly thinking about doing it as a Perm for a training ride with a difference rather than for 'fun'. I struggle to find motivation these days to go out and ride up and down R roads like I used to for TT training so audaxes give me a bit of a mix with different terrain, less traffic and the need to navigate and sometimes collect receipts.
Better than 6hrs out the A4, 6hrs back, rinse repeat every weekend. :S
I've ridden DD as perm. Feels very lonely after riding it a calendar event. I used to live in Brighton for many years and find it a shame that the route doesn't go to the beach so I like to add an extra detour.
