Had a spare hour so got started on the build after picking it up from the lbs that only charged me £10 for the headset and crown race fitting. Needless to say, I will be a repeat customer.
Lots to do tomorrow evening.
Excuse the curtains. New house. New bike room.

Lifeline mudguards .. YYY?

Cos for £15 and looking at them, they are great.
Similar coverage to pdw. Same weight. Minimal fittings. Can't complain for £60 less. If they are shite after trying them it's only £15. Also, good eye. -

I am not a PDW fanboi .. SKS tho .. get some flaps now!

Haha, gotta build the bike first. Haha. Sat in front of the tv stripping the old bar tape off the donor bars and then I'll fit the shifters.

Looks great, I will hopefully get my CDF built this week too..

Thanks man. Good luck with your build!
I got a little more done last night and now just need to install all cables (inner and outer) and set it all up this evening.
I'm not used to a compact geo, currently in the above image, the seatpost is at the correct height. I chose size based on reach and stack rather than seat tube and it just has a very small seat tube. Kinda like it but it looks weird (new). -

Its a lovely colourway and glad you did wait for it. Take some sick prolly style photos after its done. I am brainstorming a disc bike atm and that colour made me lean to CDF but my brain is set on Datum ;)

Yeah I'm realllllly glad I waited and didn't get a London road or something else. Really happy with how it's looking and definitely need to get some decent photos when it's done. Probably gonna take the stickers off the wheels after its built as well.
Datum is hot but £999 is a lotta dolla.

He has a discount code or something. Still a lot of money and box-y looking fork...
Glad to see your bike's coming together at last!

• #289
Ah right!
Cheers! Really looking forward to cycling 50m up and down my street in the dark tonight to give it a quick test before my commute tomorrow.

Got it all done accept for the mudguards that are half fitted.
I'll finish those off and get some photos tomorrow. Knackered. I do not enjoy cabling a bike. The rest I do. -
• #293
Well, did you commute this morning? What weight is the finished bike? Did you get it below 10kg?
-
• #294
Pics or ..
-
• #295
I didn't. =[
I got half way through fitting the rear mudguard and said 'stuff this' and went and sat down with the missus and the cat...
I haven't got any scales but I think I'm just tipping the scales over 10kg from the feel of it compared to my 7kg road bike. It doesn't bother me too much though, 10kg doesn't weigh quite as much as I was worried it would, if that makes sense?
Crappy photo but here's how it looked just before bar tape went on:
(I haven't fitted it yet, hence the spacer stack)

I feel like that saddle doesn't suit the build. Any thoughts? Similar width to arione.
-
• #297
very nice indeed .. you wont need spacers if your caad10 setup is anything to go by. Forget about aesthetics with saddle, remember there are some people who use Selle SMP.
How/where did you get IKEA PS cabinet in grey?
Valve caps >>>>>>>>>

If it suits your arse, it suits your bike.

Getting the headset sorted today at the lbs and the building is hopefully gonna get done this evening. Definitely worth the wait, the frame is lovely with a decent finish. can't wait. Hopefully it is dry next week cos I'm gonna be precious of this for a little while haha
