Saw him on your tumblr earlier - that's one quaint dog, can't say I ever saw one like this in the flesh.
Love the Portra colours, would do some curves though!

I know it needs some work on curves etc but I feel like if I'm only getting OK scans, it's hard to put the energy into post pro when the result is only going to be so-so anyway.

To be honest in cases like this I often "auto-tone" it at least in PS, that function actually has gotten really good.
Make an action out of it like "resize to ....px > auto-tone > save" and automate (batch-process) the whole folder with it and it's a super quick / almost zero-effort quick remedy..

I usually use asda, I'm not sure if it's asda or my new camera/lens but I find my photos to not be like my old cameras photos.

I'd recommend you switch and see if the quality is the same (colours and so on), then you will know if its the developers or the camera/lens.

Photoghost seems to be more professional

If you live in Aberdeen you should definitely use Photoghost.

I subscribe to their development service (£25 a month for unlimited dev and scans) and they are also very nice chaps.

How good / hi-res are the scans though?

The scans included are medium quality and fine for sharing online etc but I usually pay a small supplment for hi res scans. JPEGs are usually around 10Mb.

Got well excited about this and then read in the t&cs:

..meh.. sounded to good to be true, ha!
Still, guess there's not a lot of months I'd shoot more than 10 rolls so would still be a good deal..

You can pay a small supplement for extra rolls. I've been averaging around 5 rolls a month. 10 a month would be very good value for money.

Here it's about 7.50 per roll for dev and mediocre scans, so that's 37.50.
Heck I pay 3.50 per roll just for developement (and that's not even the "pro" lab).

Given London is more expensive than Berlin in pretty much all aspects it's cool that you at least get rather cheap film developement & scans!

I agree the value's good, it would be perfect for some people, I just tend to hoard film and then send it all in at once!

Excited doesn't cover it. Picking up this bad boy soon!

I'm a big rolleicord fan. It's got a fairly large learning curve, but worth it. 6x6 transparencies are amazing.

Friend of mine shot amazing stuff with one of these for some years.
Personally I never really warmed up to them, I don't know, loved the images they produce but handling always felt awkward to me - whereas with the Mamiya (and especially Hasselblad) medium format cameras it was like love on first sight.
Great thing about the Rolleis certainly is that they offer great quality in a compact and light (!) package..

Do they have a flickr account?

I really have no idea how I'll get on with it but I'm sure it will be fun!
