But you don't have to be an "Apple-guy" for buying a Mac, and you won't become an "Apple-guy" if you buy one.. I've had PC and Android phone for a loong time, but made choice of buying a Macbook Air, and I love it! It works a lot better, and are way more comfortable to use because of iOS. I still have my Desktop and android phone, because they give me something Apple products can't..
So don't be afraid of buying an Apple product.. ;-) They are great, and again as TRA is saying, just use dual boot, so you can use CAD and etc.
