    Every town had a pub before Wetherspoons came along. Every town had a shop before Tesco came along.

    You just have to do it better or cheaper. Not that I want it to happen.

  • You are right but each of them Spoons, Tesco had a USP (cheap, ease, access etc).
    Its hard to sell a curry with a USP with already saturated market. Plus its so ubiquitous it cant be trendy like Mexican food or something.

    Having said that restaurants like Dishoom, Prashad, Bundobust are doing phenomenal job and tbh I won't be surprised if Dishoom is already in the works for national expansion.
