up close it shows
Don't slow down!

That fork looks to suits the frame more than the original.

It's a training bike, there are some old hire bikes at the Alkmaar velodrome here in the Netherlands which are exactly the same as yours. Nice frames nonetheless.

Aren't training bikes just obsolete racing bikes?
-
• #6
That's a lot of scoblebricks. Isn't it a bit too small for you?
-
• #7
It is a little small, infact ive changed the bars now, reversed the seat post and lowered it a little. Pic to follow

excuse slightly saddle position, i had adjusted it before going on track but it slipped a little under my 86kg

Interesting frame! Though I wonder what the point of the bent downtube is when there is so much clearance. Wouldn't a straight downtube be fine as well? Like so:

Indeed and thats what they did with the next 2 models, its deffo designed that way-picture of it in koga catalogue as mentioned before. Its the fattest downtube ive ever seen..its almost as wide as it is deep and not a teardrop shape! Maybe they just came across some alloy shaped that way and thought lets use this? or its to provide strength given that the seat tube is very small in cross section in the cutout for the rear wheel. Crazy Dutchies.

Slight update, i refurbished an old track disc wheel and used it for my local evening 10. -

Do you want a Dura Ace AX brake?
It's been rattle-canned matt black and someone's given it the "garden shed" Drillium treatment.
Not only is it mad rad, but actually pretty aero and I stood my bike on it's nose once, so the braking isn't as bad as you might read.
Freecycled to me from Umop3isdn, likewise to you.
PS Brake pads are blue: matchy-matchy!

Jumping on the sell wagon, I just spotted that (last year, on TTF...) you were looking for some 1-1/8" Cinelli Angel bars. I have some for sale (silver). Let me know if you're interested!

sounds good! i'll pm you

What did you use for the fairing on the brake?
-
• #17
just a bit of plastic i heated with a heatgun, i set the oval adjuster in the position where it was narrow in line with the frame and curved it around that, i probably could have made it curve underneath the caliper hiding the workings there too. Not sure what would be made of it in a ctt event.. its probably pointless but it looks slightly more modern.

Not sure what would be made of it in a ctt event...
Illegal, but it's unlikely you''ll get dobbed-in.
Unless we ever find ourselves head-to-head...

and yet its perfectly alright to buy a caliper with a magnetically attached fairing as part of its design or use a fork which covers the brake in its entirety. Its a funny area of the rules..i know its been discussed on ttforum and most people wouldnt give a crap but where would you stand if you say made a fork with hidden brake fit a frame it wasnt designed for? Its a shame to have a situation like this because say you design a bike yourself or brand it as your own then are your technical designs or innovation not deemed as worthy as those used in production given people can copy these things anyway.

Just another bike like yours .but yours is so mean

This is an oddball bike, i believe its the forerunner to the nemo colorway scandium frames by a couple of models. I bought it from a chap thats previously posted it on here and ive seen a thread on it on Retrobike too. Story goes that its an ex dutch/knwu youth training bike but im not totally sure thats the case. Ive only seen pictures of 2 others on google and searching old koga catalogues shows a similar road model from around 96-97.

I built it up as a fixed gear TT bike just in time for my last club 10 event last year and did my PB on it. Paint was ratty as fuck, fork is starting to give way so its been replaced with one i bought off @Scilly.Suffolk. - problem then was that the paint looked odd with chrome rear stays and a matt black fork so >>
Todays effort - decided to repaint with blue/yellow pearl fade, did a really shit job, rushed, what prep? and up close it shows- runs etc
