Looking for a recommendation of a 15" or 17" laptop for doing photo editing on LR and Photoshop. Currently running a Dell M6400 Covet with 32GB ram and big SSD for all the programs to run off but the performance viewing and editing photos is super laggy. I think it's the graphics card and processor letting the side down and these are not upgradeable (I don't think!)

Ever thought of buying a Macbook?
I love working with Photoshop (Editing pictures etc.) on my Macbook Air 13".. So perhaps a Macbook Pro 15" would suit you well? They are pricey, but they are wonderfull to use! -

I have thought about it but everything else I do (CAD, word processing, etc) is PC based and I have an Android phone..... just never been into Apple stuff though I know it's excellent for this kind of thing.

@mi7rennie
You Need SSD, and a motherboard capable of throughput... ie memory and processing bandwidth.A well specced new Dell will cost as much, if not more than a Mac Book Pro.
I dont use iPhones either (use a sony android device) but for image work it has to be Mac.Also run a dual boot OS X/Windows system on your shiny new mac and continue with CAD there...
Or see if you can change the HD on your current lappy to SSD
