Every gym visit entitles you to a trip to Morleys (or Knight's Fish Bar) on your way home. No gym no Morleys/chippy.
(Obvious advice is obvious but) don't over do it to start with and burn out. Like most new things it's helpful to build it in to your regular routine and once that routine is set don't deviate from it. After a few months it'll should be almost second nature.

cycling could burn 340-1000 calories
in a depressingly predictable turn of events entirely in keeping with my status as a fast approaching middle aged white man in january, i've joined a gym. well, the local council run health center up the road.
pro-tips on how not to sack it off after the first 3 visits welcome.
