It's not about the aeros. The sweep should go the other way so that the spider arms are in compression, which puts the chainring hoop stress into tension and keeps them circular. If you have the spider arms in tension, the chainring hoop stress is compressive and the rings want to buckle. That's why brake disc rotors are the shape they are, and have a defined direction of rotation

Beautiful, but technically the sweep goes the wrong way. Designed by the art department, not the engineering department :-)
