• i don't know whether you went out, but if you're training i'd recommend taking the train out and back and doing the ingatestone lap twice. this way you can get some proper uninterrupted riding in (approx 70 ish miles) rather than poodling back to london. the route isn't great there and back.

  • The cold headwind made the ride harder than expected and very quickly put an end to the idea of riding back. I'll keep that in mind though (laps), thanks.

Warming my feet up on the radiator in the train was lovely. It was VERY quiet though, just me and this guy:

  • Well done! If you plan on doing this again, I'd be interested :)

Otherwise, since the weather for tomorrow looks good, I was thinking about going to Luton to see big and small airplanes (there's a gliding club not too far from the airport). So anyone who would like to join me in that endeavour is more than welcome!

    • 120km loop starting from Camden Town, ft. 1200m of D+ (map)
    • departure at 8:30-ish AM so that there's ample time to stop on the way for various beers, coffees, gulp of vodka from my flask, etc.
    • TNKR-like pace
  • Haha that pic is funny.
I've bailed once on a ride due to the bitter cold when I couldnt actually use my brakes and sat in the train toilet cubicle for the whole way back from tonbridge wells I think with my hands under the air dryer.
