Would 27+ wheels fit in a 29er frame?
The diameter should, the width probably won't. Not only because a typical 29er is designed for 2.3-2.5 tyre clearance, but because the space for the maximum tyre width will be placed at a greater diameter in a niner than on a true 27.5+ frame, so any bends or indents in the chainstay (usually the tightest spot) will be in the wrong place.

Yep, all frame dependent. I'm looking into this at the mo too. For example the on one parkwood 29er is sold as both a 29er and 27+ on the same frame. Compare that to the 29er titus el guapo (also basically an on one) and you've got no chance getting any thing plus sized between the chainstays.
Need to get a measuring tape out...
