What mudguards to get for my Kinesis Racelight disc? It's got guard attachment points halfway up the inside of the fork leg and usual place on rear stays with brake tucked away so no issues there.
I'm initially going to be running 28s on there, apparently the frame/fork will take up to 32s with guards. I don't think I'll really want to go much bigger than 28s but nice to have the option I guess. What size is best without getting those massive ones that make it look like an old granny's town bike?
I'm currently running SKS narrow chromoplastics on my old bike but feel those'd be a bit tight for 28s, is that the case?
45mm chromoplastics or bluemels? Any preference?

None of them, go for Longboard.

Why longboards over the others, Ed?
-
• #1994
Because it's longer, rather than half the length that make Chromoplastic/Brumel useless.

Cool thank you. Found some on the bay.

Half the length? Looking at pics it looks like the front is a little longer at the bottom and the rear looks about the same as on chromoplastics but with a little extra plastic bit. Reviews suggest the extra long bit at the front snaps off after a while, is it preferable to just have a flap instead of the extra bit of solid mudguard?

Longboard;
The length actually covered the entire front wheel effectively, whether the Chromoplastic only does half, which mean your feet and drivetrain will get soaked regardless.
It's a lots longer at the bottom.
The flap on the longboard is pretty long too.
Compared to Chromoplastic, you can see what happen if the front guard is very short;

My longboards don't play nice with the fork so they have to be mounted in front of the headset as opposed to behind which makes a huge difference in foot coverage.

Has anyone any experience of putting longboards on a Synapse Disc? Has mounts and stuff, i don't think the PDW ones will fit.

Raw flap in place of Longboard's original. It was gonna be scraping the floor as was, so i remounted the guard to the front of the headset, Señor_Bear style. As it's more flexible than the SKS flap, I'm hoping this one won't scoop up all the twigs. Flap is a couple of inches longer than the SKS original.

Got some Rainy Day Biking flaps as a gift from a colleague. They're incredible.
