  • Neat!

Haha, I haven't been on here for a few months now for the same reason. It's only gonna get worse :(

  • Do you mind taking a close up picture of the clug holding the wheel? Am curious to see how it would work with my heds which have carbon fairing

  • Thank fuck my student life is over now, and I can actually start a life now (10 years of bloody studying finally fintio!)

  • No worries, anything specifics?

  • Just want to see how it grabs on. The fairing is non structural on my heds so i wouldnt be keen if it grabs onto the part below the braking surface

  • FYI:

It doesn't grab onto the breaking surface just used the tyre to hold the bike in place (sorry for the poor picture btw)

  • Cheers dude. Just what I was after. What width are those rims?

  • Not sure whether this is still going on but my place got some free Sheffield stands last year https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/news-articles/free-cycle-stands

  • Going to have two, used Topeak stands up for sale soon, a Topeak TwoUp TuneUp (Top), ideal for minor fixes and storing, and a Topeak Dual Touch (bottom). Both don't need anything doing regarding drilling walls etc. so great for renters with unyielding landlords. Thinking £80 for the twoup and £70 for the tuneup

Let me know if there's any interest

  • I had the bottom one in our last rented flat .. its great.
By the time I bought it my landlord agreed to let me drill wall on the condition I fill them when I leave which is what I did. Very easy to do.

  • Ta dah!

  • Took a que from this thread. Had a little nook to store a couple rides whilst not riding. Nice to reclaim some floor space because of it.

  • Nice streamers.

  • Is there an easier way to unlock your shed at 5am?
I'm currently having to boil a kettle to unfreeze my three padlocks.
I've tried pumping them full of grease, still needed a kettle this morning.

  • I should add that I dried the out in the oven before greasing them up.

  • Try graphite lube. You might need to get the current grease out of the mechanism though?
Put the padlocks in some old socks or something over night. Heat the key up with a lighter before you insert it?

  • Even with the key in, the internals were frozen solid. Might try socks and a different grease. Not pissing about with lighters though, if it comes to that I'll get a fucking blowtorch.

  • Have a slash on them.

Drink plenty of water before you go to bed and you'll have pure, unadulterated hot urine to unfreeze your locks.

  • One of them is at head height, I can't get that sort of pressure these days. Even if I could, my aim is so bad I wear wellies to the loo.

  • B&D

    Have a slash on them

    Rep.

my aim is so bad I wear wellies

I will ask you to put your wellies on next time you are at the Flask

  • Slow puncture + Clug = expensive bike on floor this morning.

  • Well that sucks. Never thought of that potential clug fail
