I'd forgotten how much Cud sound like David Devant & His Spirit Wife.
His paunch is going to be massive now isn't it?

ad in the window of my local newsagent in Herne Hill that was listing a "reformed Cud and the Cudettes dancing troupe" at the Half Moon.
Next to 'Greek Lessons', 'French Polishing' and 'Large Chest For Sale'?

Actually, it was next to an advert for a Ancient History, Classics and ESOL tutor.
This is Herne Hill you know, not some sort of down market area.

**CUD back in 2010 **
Dec 14 2009
OK. Enough teasers. When we played our 'last ever' show in May 2008, did anyone seriously think we were retiring to our allotments permanently?
I am happy to announce that CUD – that's Carl, Steve, Felix and Will – are returning in March 2010 for a residency of sorts at London's Hootananny Club in Brixton. We're playing three consecutive Saturdays – the 6th, 13th and 20th (at 9.30pm each night).
Tickets go on sale from the usual suspects, or from the venue on 19th Dec, the perfect Christmas present for the Space CUDet in your life. The paunch will be the size of a purple love balloon.

YouTube- Wild Billy Childish And The Buff Medways 'Medway Wheelers'
sure beats Queen in my book!
Finest cycling song EVER!
I have to say that I couldn't agree with this statement more and I'm surprised at the anger of the Wild Billy Childish detractors, he is after all Great Britain's most prolific musician.
I'm also a little surprised at the comparison with Mark E Smith, I've always liked the Fall but would have thought dealings with Mr Smith to have far more potential for dramas.Medway Wheelers for me captures the essence of cycling, club cycling in a way I am not aware of anyone else even trying to do, great song and a great single cover, I love it and if I never hear Queen again, it would be too soon...

Planned three Brixton gigs are now streamlined to two, through no fault of our own. We are now playing the 6th and 20th of March only.

I was actually gonna mention Sexton... Those guys have been around for so long I'm not gonna berate them too much, good on 'em for sticking it out... I've seen Billy Childish play in every one of his many incarnations going all the way back to 1982, worn out by it now... Tho' I did really enjoy the first Buffs LP...

Jonny Berliner sang a song called "Freewheeling On My Bicycle Wheel". It was brilliant. Saw him perform it twice, but never been able to buy a copy.
