I would have though there's a hub spacing solution to the chainline?
Depends on the hub.

My half arsed searching has so far failed to yield a fixed tt frame that I like. I've also enjoyed reading the bamboo bike threads in current projects...
Other than my total lack of experience and engineering ability, is there any reason why it would be more than averagely stupid to try and build a fixed tt frame out of bamboo?

It's hard to find bamboo poles in aerofoil sections.

It will make you look like durianrider (unless you're going for that)

Sure, but I'm unlikely to find any proper aero frames within budget anyway. I'm pretty sure you've said that cheap aero shapes are unlikely to significantly outperform round section steel tubes, and although bamboo will be a bit chunkier, I should be able to adjust the geometry so that I'm more aero than I would be on (for example) an ill fitting pre cursa?
Also I won't be chasing pbs on this frame... It's more for use on the local SC courses. If I go out hunting a time then I'll take the cervelo.
Durianrider? He's mad as a hatter, no?

It's the chunkier where your argument collapses. If you want to build a frame which gives you an excellent position (better than forcing yourself onto a too-small OTP track frame, for example) which also has a low frontal area (since that's the best way to get low drag if you can't escape round tubes), steel is the way to go.

Nice. Is that the 56cm T4 which was for sale on TTF recently? I was very, very, very by that one, but decided it was just a bit too big for me as my DF4 is a 55cm frame and about an inch shorter on reach.

Bamboo fixed wheel TT bike that I would like to see

Nah, bought new. Belongs to JohnnySenna

I've got that now, will be the 2016 fixed gear TT bike from about April ish onwards once I've run it through a zillion hours of AeroCoach to nail down a position on it.

Nice. I was tempted at the original price, and very very tempted at the reduced price. Having decided I didn't need it, I then went and spent more on the P5 that I don't need either.
May need to have some AeroCoach input into my position so that I can get the fit on the P5 right from the outset. I'll be in touch...
-
• #639
By all means do. Switching from a converted P2C to the T4 for me will mean that the frame interaction will be similar but I'm sure there'll be differences I'll have to tease out. I've got my pursuit/indoor only T4 crazy aero now (my kg/CdA is >460kg/m^2) but the position on it is quite a bit different compared with the P2C, some of that will be different aerobars.

How transferable is the position going to be going from a P2 with Brezza IIs to a P5 Six with Aduros? Is it worth bothering getting the fit on the P2 sorted before the P5? Questions, questions...

If you've got a new bike and want an AeroCoach session or are going to D2Z*, Southampton or doing your own testing, do it all on the new bike otherwise it'll just be a fudge and you've had to invest in it anyway.
*TBF no-one does these days

Thanks @stevepeel for the tip on Zipp vuka risers working with Deda Parabolica bars. Just need to sort out a slightly longer stem and chop that steerer.

No worries. You have good taste in builds!

Laughing in the face of the 3cm rule?
-
• #645
Yes, i'm afraid so, feel like i'll slip off the end of the extensions if i'm any shorter. Should give ski bends a try this season.

Should give a longtail helmet a try too. Sit back further on the saddle too, then you won't need such a long stem.
-
• #647
I start off sat normally on the saddle, then find myself perched on the rivet after a minute or so. Bike fitting issues I'm sure, relationship of hip to axle / thigh length I would guess but I'd rather take the family for a nice day out for that money. Perspective and that.

And the hat stays, I've just stuck rebel alliance roundels on it.
-
• #649
It's because the saddle is too high so you're being pulled forward to reduce effective leg extension

Seat post choice is going to make lowering it a pain.
Unfortunately not, it's 175mm as is the Stages. Bugger. I would have though there's a hub spacing solution to the chainline?
