Yes boss, I had a great time racing the madison with @ioreka. Good vibes and good course. I think that's the maximum seriousness I can take cyclocross, it was perfect. But I'm not doing it again until I sort out my gear ratio, my knees feel like they gonna esplode. Still a bit achy :(

What's that ratio?

66gi. I've got a 39 up front and 16 in the back but I'm now officially out of money and I know I need at least a 18-19 in the back. Cheapest non-shimano freewheel?

Charlie the Bikemonger does Sturmey Archer for about £13. Serving my CX needs well this season.

My attempts to use Dictas have ended up in mid-trail ragequits. OK for BMX but otherwise a bag of shit.

Ok further advice also noted!

Maybe not the best soloution, i got caught out with a 3/32 drivechain and ended up with a 1/8 freewheel. A big rock and allen key and massive dose of solvent cured my problem and left me with a 1/8 freewheel that i couldn't use at that point in time and space.
Back at home.
Twenty minutes on a bench grinder and i made it fit a 3/32 chain :) -

Might be being silly, but - if I wanted to see if I could run my Challenge Grifo tubeless I presume I'd crack the bead on one side, remove the tube, put a tubeless valve in, then see if I could seat the tyre again?
If yes add sealant and call it good?

Won't work, sidewalls are too porous.

Yarp, it's a black wall, excitingly.

Challenge FAQs don't recommend it, but seems more of a CYA statement.

I've yet to hear of anyone who's successfully got a Challenge, gumwall or otherwise, running tubeless.
I'm surprised they haven't launched a tubeless range yet though.

their tubs are super cheap on PX at the mo. Tempted, if my next CX wasn't summer series 2016.

I think I'm done on tubs.

Round 13 of the London League is cancelled, the course at Wilmington School is waterlogged.

damn... was an easy one for me to get to too.
thx for the heads up

Central league is on the Saturday before and at Milton Keynes if anyone else needs their fix. Should be a good course at this stage of the season: slippery off cambers everywhere.
Get your entry in early though, because the national trophy is at the same venue the day after so lots of riders will come down for the weekend, and it'll probably sell out, and, if it doesn't the central league costs loads more to enter on the line.

What's the normal failure mode?
Ok, sounds like they are a good candidate to experiment with tubeless, I shall make purchase - thanks!
