Banana skins don't degrade fast, same for orange peels. Switch to apples ;)
No rain, no wind and met a fellow commuter who said hi as he saw I am cycling fixed. "Is that a fixie". It sure is. He runs a commuter group on Facebook which I gave a like. Turns out his route is flooded for quite a bit and he had to go on the road...
The Lagan river is very high atm...

First near miss of the year today, going along the CS7 in the bus lane, when a blue Astra drew level with me and starting moving left and getting closer and closer until the point I was banging on his window did he finally stop at this point he put on his indicators. A few words were exchanged mostly him shouting that I should be looking where I'm going, I made it worse when I inform that he was moving towards me. No point auguring with his logic so bid him a good day.

Not to mention the worst thing of all, their signage has an open-quote as an apostrophe.

In other news, my normally zen-like calm in the face of crappy driving went out the window today with judicious use of the universal hand sign for stroking a length at the driver of an articulated lorry. He seemed to think that closing up that tiny gap, in really quite slow traffic, was more important than the safety of a certain famous forumer's GF, with whom I was rolling, or me. Lorry was duly passed soon after as it waited in the usual shitfest that is Camberwell New Road in the A.M..
Then the sun came out and made me smile as I rolled along Vic Embankment west.
6/10 rising to a strong 8/10.

Black Cab driver decided to punishment pass me last night waving his arm out the window.
I caught him up and informed him of his failure as a professional driver and explained how turning works and highway code blah blah all while the traffic lights cycled. Sorry it cost you extra Mr Passenger but if cunts like that are supposed to be the best taxi drivers on the road there's not much hope. Generally I find black cab drivers fine so it's annoying that this ignorant (and clearly blind) fuckwit slipped through the testing.
Then some old fart almost took me out on a RAB near home. So much for my 'two front lights aids visibility' notion.
Now, I'm off to try my luck again...

Visibility schmisibility. I've never failed to notice the person dressed all in black riding a black bike with no lights at night - though I'd never advise riding like that, obviously. But at London speeds, you see everything, all other things being equal and the rider isn't jumping in front of you.
People just don't pay attention. -

No way that counts as E&C

Lots of people got new lights from Santa it would seem.

I dunno why but an absolute shed load of drivers are smoking joints at the wheel, I keep getting massive wafts.

Many of which seem to only attach to bars at an angle of 5 degrees up from the horizontal.

Negotiated E&C southbound for first time since the re-design. Threw me a bit not going left from Blackfriars but on the whole ok. What's the northbound from Kennington like?
I like it even if it isn't.
