  • Just saw the new Star Wars. A brilliant way to spend Christmas eve with the kids 😄

  • It's just got a rubbish rhythm. By the time you get to the end you don't really care anymore.

  • Also, the bear fight is ridiculous.

  • Not seen it yet, will probably chuck it on at some point over the next few days, there are 5 kids here (plus a baby) , I already don't care anymore.

  • I've long since forgotten who I wanted to recommend these to, or why... but for good measure I finally remembered:

Mike Leigh - Life is Sweet (1990) / High Hopes (1988)

  • Gosford Park fine UK historical drama by USA director. (With the injoke by having a USA character in it ^=^) Also worth a watch if that's normally not your cuppa.

Short cuts by him is also good :)

  • Anyone seen Propaganda? Looks interesting.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2279306/

  • Would really like to see this. Anyone with a copy?

  • Google

    watch Propaganda (2012)

  • talking of tarantino had a good bad experience with django unchained over xmas
watched it after the pub with my brother in law, really nice paced film good comic lilt to it, all round excellent film

christoph waltz characters are always so good

the bad bit, the recording stopped during the mass gunfight ( near the end ? ) most people were dead and both django and brunhilde were alive ... not sure how much was left must try and watch it again soon

You missed the reveal that Django is actually a replicant! Now watch it again and it'll all make sense.

  • Short Cuts is really good..

  • Saw Carol the other night, it was very slow but very good. I didn't really expect the ending to be as it was.

  • Saw Carol tonight too and thought it was amazing. Some of the shots were beautifully done, especially the various shots through car windows etc and also totally captured so many of those moments when you're falling in love with someone. Awwww.

  • I thought it was a good story when they did it on the radio, but it does mean I know how it ends.

  • I don't think the story is the main thing about it to be honest. As @Prole. said, it's the cinematography, and also the acting which is great.

  • Saw Joy over xmas, pretty good I enjoyed it

  • Watched Sicario the other day. Excellent movie with an intense and brutally cold Benicio Del Toro performance, yet still was essentially US MIC propaganda, but was vastly more effective then the dull, obtuse, leaden scripted wankfest that we know as American Sniper.

Also saw The Revenant. Got stressed out by the bear mauling scene.

Saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the BFI IMAX. Despite it being a reprisal of A New Hope, essentially, I sat enthralled, like a little kid.

  • mother in law is in town so i purchased some hong-kong fillums for her to enjoy.

this is about the craziest movie i've never understood a word of dialogue in and i suspect it would make less sense if i did. utterly bonkers.

Legit fucking furious as an Unlimited cardholder. Fuck this. Screener here we go...

  • Have you tried "the untold story" on her yet as part of the made in Hong Kong theme? ;)

  • looking forward to this. Ben Wheatley never fails to impress.

  • Star Wars was flippin great.

  • thanks. i get that a lot.
