Gorgeous frame!
may I ask you what was the price for the frame? -

In this photo, I can see the Carrera team in a time trial stage. So, like the image, I will use Cinelli Tempo bullhorn with a Cinelli XA stem (i found also a cinelli grammo, but it was used in raod stages). Cinelli bartape.
Thanks to @Reinier89 for bullhorn :)

I don't know what is the fork, it has "mercurius" ends.
it could be genius or some other OS tubes from columbus (like brain). i had very similar fork in my columbus genius tig welded frame.

I don't know, because i think that fork-ends will be Columbus or Campagnolo....i don't know MERCURIUS....

it's a choice what ends to use. what about shimano EF or gipiemme ends and dropouts on columbus frames?
-
• #9
Infact the frame has Gipiemme rear ends!

Lovely frameset!!!

That fork looks exactly like the two that I have, one currently on a Scapin, the other from a Scapin but in the cupboard. Both are Columbus Genius.

Ok, thanks! also the frame of Marco Pantani in the museum is Columbus Genius, but fork is different and engraved :)

Wow, again. Nice catch :)
Isn't Chiappucci running a grammo? I think so :D

Yes, but someone told me that on time trial didn't use that stem....and I don't like it very much :)

I meant to say that in the image you posted he is using a grammo ;)
Anyway, non issue, just something I spotted. Looking forward to seeing this built.

Any reason you chose to mix 1994 and 1995 c record / record parts. Is newer chainset and older rear derailleur, seatpost and headset?

Because i replicate this bike of marco pantani at the museum....same graphics, same years....but i use 95 record ergopower.
Also I found the mix Group on a bike :) so i use it as i found....no changes...

Hi guys,
this is another time trial project....I found this beautiful frame and I bought it :) It is a Carrera "the One" made by Podium, Columbus MAX, that was bought in the 90's directly from the Podium Team of Pantani,Chiappucci...probably it was one of the frames of Buido Bontempi (the measures of the frame are the same) repainted by Podium in 90's with the Tassoni Team graphics, the same of Chiappucci and Marco Pantani :).
The fork is not Columbus Max because it was too rigid for time trial stages. I don't know what is the fork, it has "mercurius" ends.
Probably the frame is 1993-94, so I decided to assemble it with Campagnolo components like the bike of Marco Pantani in the museum. It is made with Campagnolo Record 1994 and 1995 components, with Shamal wheels, Cinelli handlebar and Flite titanium saddle.
Here some photos! I have just started the assembly
