These parts came from a lovely, early 70's magenta pink Mercier 531 bicycle.
Lucien Juy's finest Simplex Super L.J gearset - based on the information I have gathered, this is the first generation gearset so pre-1975 so great for your l'Eroica steed.
The rear derailleur is the 1972 first generation SLJ AR 615 NI (AR stands for 'Arriere' - this model was later renamed SLJ 5000 CP with minimal changes in 1975) .
The fitting is done via a counter allen bolt and was initially made for Simplex dropouts. One of the 10t jockey wheels is shot but I have brand new spare Shimano ones which I will include.
The front derailleur is a SLJ A500, however the cast aluminium clamp has snapped so it is unfortunately for spares or repairs only.
The downtube friction shifters are the early version SLJ 5057. are in alloy so in great shape - the clamp has surface pitting so will need elbow grease.
"These shifters were very popular with racers who like the feel and that they slipped less than Campagnolo friction shifters of the same time period. Considered an excellent upgrade over all downtube friction shifters as well as modern counterparts by some."
I have checked eBay prices and they go surprisingly high but being new year and LFGSS -> SOLD FOR £4 posted SOLD is a fair price for the lot.
If you also need to order Champagne, I will be happy to discount...
