MultiGrooves also commented regarding the hole in the bottom of the bag. But I have never suffered from water ingress in mine.

How many holes your bags actually have? Coz like I said, Bart from MW said there are 2 - one on each side at the bottom of the liner, and i have since located them on mine, but mine also has a 3rd one bang in the middle, almost directly above the metal grommet. That is my worry that water could get straight into the bag from there. Annoying!! He has offered a full refund but I really like the bag... But fact is my stuff did get wet inside...

Any other Vandal or Rambler owners who noticed that – on very rainy days – water does not necessarily get in through the grommet at the bottom but through the bottom seams?

black's good but looked into this a little and don't think it's for me, too much bag (and $) - glws
This might seems an odd question somehow. Are your backpacks totally water proof? Particularly if you have a vandal or rambler, Coz my vandal isnt't - I found a hole at the bottom of the bag, on the liner, and it was most likely where the water could seep in.
I have been having words with the guys from Mission Workshop and they said the hole is meant to be there, in fact, there are 2 holes to work in conjunction with the metal hole at the bottom of the outer layer at the bottom of the bag to drain water out of the bag. This is rather strange as why would a water proof bag needs somewhere to drain water out? Anyone has had their stuff wet in the bag? Have you also noticed those holes in the liner at the bottom of the bag?
