What are the Champ dates? Aren't most of them in the 2015 handbook already?
-
• #11453
Yes they are. Not everyone get a handbook.

Anyone know what the Welsh 12 hour course is like?
-
• #11455
Long?
And I guess I need to find an early season 100 to get a ride in the national one.
-
• #11456
Infested with sheep, scourged by dragons and home to inbreds who eat roadkill.
-
• #11457
Sounds like East Angular.
-
• #11459
Sorry talking nat 100. Need a 100 time for nat 100 I presume.
-
• #11460
Won't be quite so popular now that they've added half a mile on, doubt it'll fill as it's so far north. Do the Hounslow 100.

• #11461
How do qualifying times work? Is it based on the course?
I believe the men's Nat 10 course is quite slow - So would a fast qualifying time from the same course trump a quicker time from a different, faster course?
-
• #11462
Nope, just your fastest time. Only times from opens count for Nationals. It's why you can often get people seeded quite highly for a national cos they got a float day on a fast course who then get trumped by some smasher who's only ever ridden SPOCO courses.

I highly doubt it, there's no official grading of courses, just some are faster than others, and while there is some wording giving a little discretion to organisers, its unlikely they'll spend that much time worrying about those that are of interest in the seeding end of the race...
The only thing counting in the favour of those unprepared to travel to the V718 to get a qualifying time, is that a slower course will put a large number of PB hunters off so the race interest is limited to those who want to say they took part in the national 10 and those actually competing.

those who want to say they took part in the national 10
Hai!

• #11465
is there a date for the Hounslow 100 yet? guessing 29th May?
hope it doesn't fill up this year as I suspect my PB of 4:46 is probably not going to do well against any competition, should be a guaranteed PB though!

• #11466
It has traffic lights.

12hr filling? umadbro
For some reason I think I enjoyed the Welsh 12hr - can't find blog about it though. Not likely to be as fast as Newbury as I think it might've had some lumps.

Hounslow 100 in May

I'd like to do a national competition this year, the 100 doesn't work for me, neither does the 50, so it'll be the 25 or the 10, my 25 PB is possibly fast enough to get on the start list, and the only one I'm likely to do this year is the HWCC good Friday event, but at least its not a slow course...
-
• #11471
Presumably those with a 12hr distance qualify first, then fastest 100s?
I suppose they should consider 24 performances ahead of 100s, but in practical terms yes, 100s next then 99.8s :-)
-
• #11472
Hopefully have some legs then, if it's the end of may will be alright.
-
• #11473
They're well worth experiencing. Did HC, 10, 25 and 100 last year and whilst I performed quite poorly in the 10 and 25 I enjoyed them all.
-
• #11474
25 and 10 will always be the hardest to get into with their low cut-off times. What was the 25 cut-off 2015?
-
• #11475
Pretty sure the CTT ruling is pretty specific that it counts for nothing, including seeding for future races, meaning that if RJB wants to compete this year he'll have to do an early season race as well...
Seen dates for events on TTforum in Xavs thread.
Won't be able to ride the Nat 25 next year. Shame. Or the 10.
Could do the 100 for sure, falls at a perfect time really. 12 might work, but probably don't want to take the fatigue.
