turned up today - they've a small discolouration the size of half a 5p on the side. Emailed Mr.P and asked for 30% off, which they did. So got them for 80% off. Not too bad.
Mind you Net-a-porter properties have been a total let down this Xmas, naff service etc etc

You probably can't, it'll be a major job.
like i said, you'll be better off with a lugged Vibram heel and sole like these.

I have those 8146. Great boots but the vibram soles are surpringly slippy in rain and ice/snow

I'm looking for 1) a nice big soft horse hair brush for buffing / polishing / wax off; and 2) a small to medium stiff board hair cleaning brush - ie to brush off mud and dirt.
I've found a few options, but thought I'd ask in case anyone had a particular recomendación. Ideally about £20 all in, so nothing cra$y.

My mate showed that to me. Nuts. Definitely easier to read on the mobile view.
For boots and more casual shoes I think bar looks a bit odd. Then it's all about over-under lacing.

Inner soles - any particular recommendations? Looking for ones that are a bit padded for shoes that are slightly too large and just standard. Cheers

I rate leather soles. much better for for foot climate. I even use them in my cycling shoes!

Shoe lovers, can anyone recommend a high-end cobbler who will be able to resole a pair of Aldens?
In particular I'm after a re-welting, change to a leather sole with accompanying sole stain/painting.
Anyone with experience of a good cobbler please let me know!
-
• #4863
For a pair of Aldens, I'd consider sending them back to the factory
-
• #4864
Yeah, I've asked about this but they will not put on an alterate sole, only one which the shoe originally had.
I find it hard to believe in England's famous England there is not a cobbler as good as in the US.
Anyhow, the search continues!

But, unfortunately, I'm not. soz. -

I just bought clarks desert trek x horween shoes. I was wondering if anybody can comment on them and also wondered about changing the crepe sole?

Oh nice, Will definitely do that once the sole has gone, I've also got a suede pair which have kind of been destroyed, any recommendations as to how to get that sorted?

The 'Traditional Cobblers' just off Eastgate St in Gloucester is exactly that, have done some excellent work for me (and very reasonable).

Anyone have experience of the Trickers leather soled offerings as opposed to the commando and the dainite soles? Really loving a pair of chestnut smooth shoes they have, but the sole does seem amazingly thick and stiff, wondering how they would be in the real world.

I've got two pairs of the the Woodstock debut Derby, once your break em in they're amazing.
One pair is 3 years old and another two. Only had to do the heels on the 3 year old pair.

I forgot I'd ordered these back at the start of October and now don't really need them - size eleven. Anyone want them?
No real idea, sorry dude. My first port of call would be the shop off Carnaby st but know you said you'd rather not. @31trum may know better
