it sounds like you are doing the right things -rest, ice, compress and elevate (heat and cooling will help)
take your time, once the swelling has gone down it might be time to see a physio
tendons don't want to be stretched but you can work on the related muscles - trigger point therapy do a roller for the calves which could help
