I think Denis has the only faster 200 for England (at least I think I heard Aggers say that at some point).

Dennis was quicker in minutes, Stokes got the second fastest in balls after Nathan Astle. There have only been 6 double centuries quicker than a run a ball, 3 of them Sehwag. I love Cricinfo.

Presumably, the time/deliveries disparity says something about modern over rates...

Question is, if he hadn't got out, would Cook still have declared as soon as Bairstow got his 150, or let him go for 300?

Would have been nice to let him hit three hundred. England should not have to bat again this match and the rate he was going, he'd have been there in no time. So I'd say yes.
