  • I couldn't decide if the coral was hideous or great. It's a tough call, but in the end I decided that it might clash with my red beard so I got a long sleeve jersey instead which seems to have a reflective band across the chest also - maybe not quite as visible as a black brevet, but hopefully close.

  • I overstepped my tiny talent earlier today and can confirm that the hardshell jacket is also asphalt-proof as well as rain proof. Something my Assos leg-warmers could have done with emulating.

  • I found that last year with some Rapha PT bibs and an Impsport winter jacket. The Rapha bibshorts were unscathed, the Impsport jacket had a massive hole in one elbow. I don't think I've worn it since.

  • I couldn't decide if the coral was hideous or great.

    It's both, obvs.

  • I dunno. I got coral overshoes to replace my Le Groupement cosmic puke ones, and that kind of reflects what overshoes are to me. Coral jersey... hmm. I'd cringe at my own reflection, but equally, nobody could dare smidsy me ever again.

  • I have two coral jerseys (PT Climbers and PT) and another on the way (Brevet). The good thing about them is that when you're wearing them, you can't really see them. All you can see is the look of amazement, bewilderment and retina-searing shock on other people's faces.

  • I can get that effect my simply leaving my bibs at home.

  • So can most of us, I suspect, but the benefit of Waffacoralshock is that you don't get put on the sex-offenders register. Well, not necessarily.

  • Maybe you should work for bike radar?

  • I once cycled to mile end climbing centre in my PT coral jersey. Forgot to take a T-shirt to climb in so had to inflict the waffakorralshoxx™ on all of the other climbers.

    The shame.

    The power.

  • Winter Tights with or without pad?

I've been wearing thermal bibs + leg warmers but might be time for some tights.

I'm considering the pro team ones with pad, or the deep winter without.

Anyone have either that could shed some light on which is better?

  • unpadded tights on your fav bibs is the way to go; I wear DHB over Rapha.

  • Does it not feel like you have too many layers tho? Or is it for convenience of washing just the bibshorts and not the full leggings each time?

  • @604cefiro I agree with Amey that tights over bibs is the preferable combination. Bit warmer, but more wind/weather protection, easier to wash. I guess worst comes to very worst you could take them off and still have bibs?

The Deep Winter tights are VERY warm, we're talking slow roll or 5º> weather. I've got some thinner bioracer tights I wear otherwise.

Never tried the PT Tights, presumably good for fast riding / winter series races ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • I soaked my race cape during Storm Frank's little hissy fit - all nice and dry now and looks no worse for wear. Do I need to do anything like iron it to get the moderate water resistance back?

  • Does anybody remember the shadow jersey? I mean... I saw it on the eurobike?! Any updates about that?

  • Comes out in May

  • Which year?

  • I'm making it up, so whichever year you wish.

  • Large back in stock, in case you want to order

  • I've never found that mine is waterproof for longer than about 15 mins in moderate rain. Thinking about DWR spraying the arms and shoulders (which is where mine lets the most in)

  • What's the chances of classic bibs finding their way into the sale? Slim to none I'm guessing

  • Cheers for the heads up-it's only XS though :(

  • But if i remember right, there was last march/April a kind of special oder... 20% or something like this...
