Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

Been looking for a nasty 70s coloured 145 then put a d5252t in it, 6 speed box, locker in the rear, coil overs and decent arbs. But keep it looking fair stock, then just drive it every day.
Modern decent power diesel in a classic body the way to go for me as do huge miles.

Your reflectors will be peeling. The pfv ones are OK, but some folk have got better results from getting them re plasti chromed. There's a forum group discount on volvo forum ;)

When I got my 70 it had just had (3 weeks before) £900 worth I of alternator, battery and then 2x £225 Each for genuine new headlamps. Car was £600 and nothing else really wrong with it. I use the £40 rrp Philips bulbs (very short life, maybe 400 hours quoted?) and they are great. No night driving problems
