Why not just buy the size you need and return the one you don't for a refund?!

It's cool, the very nice Laurent's been in touch and is sorting it for me-much thanks for the assistance and hopefully by the time it's sorted out I'll still be able to get the desired jacket that's better able to fit over my un-Raphaesque chest.

Happy ending, they really are rather good those Raphes, especially when it comes to a pickle. Credit where its due.

French Lawrence, please...

Aye, was very good of them. Doubled down on some rain overshoes and a softshell base layer as a wee merci. just hope the replacement fits my manly physique now!

Ta, useful stuff.

Hardshells are shit anyway
-

Thought they were handy for when you live in unheated damp housing South of the river.

• #23985

i wouldn't want to ride anything other than tempo in it, but for touring/commuting and general pootling it's the best fully waterproof jacket I've ever had both in terms of style and performance.
Of course, if you're a fat sweaty monster at anything above walking speed you might struggle.

I got from EBay a black (with signature white arm band) Lightweight Rain Jacket.
The most beautiful looking thing I now own (except the missus)!
Anyone know how old it is as cans find any trace on 'net of it.
(Has Rapha on back tail but) -

Yeah they're fine for rolling around in, but boiling hot if you put any effort in and they are very waterproof. Don't really see what they offer that a race cape, or a softshell doesn't though. Race cape will pack down (hardshell doesn't really) and is a bit more breathable. Softshell is loads more breathable, warm and has vents.

At least my opinions are qualified by actually owning and using this stuff.
Which jacket would you recommend for walking from the house to the shed, to look at your bikes, and then back again? -
• #23994
i bought a softshell in the black friday sale and sent it back, both because of sizing and also because (and I'm sorry to utter this yet again in this thread) for fast rides I'd much rather a gabba with arm warmers/gilet, and for cutting about town I'm not really wanting that ninja look that the softshell only comes in either.
In other news I nearly bought the hideous coral brevet jersey in a fit of desperation as I really wanted the black one. If anyone has an unwanted one in large I'm yer man.

There are very few times in a year when I find a Hardshell is the right tool for the job, but on those occasions when it is (heavy rain/sleet, howling gale, 2+ hour ride) there's nothing else which comes close.

fair enough. I guess you live in Scotland so a hardshell sort of makes sense weather-wise. I was reluctant to sell mine, despite never wearing it - it was the nicest looking cycling jacket I've owned.

What about rollers, inside with the telly on? :)

Tried it. Can't bear it. No matter what the conditions, I'd rather be out on a bike rather than sweating unpleasantly all over the living room floor. If I have to exercise indoors then I'll use the ergo instead and get some rare upper body exercise in too.

I'm with @danstuff - cycling is an outdoor activity. Turbo training is for hamsters.
The stores don't have the ability to ship products. It's perfectly normal.
Try asking Nike Town to handle a return and exchange by post. It won't happen.
CS will help in any way they can but you're asking for them to do things that aren't possible.
