  • PT softshell jacket; gabba is the new comic sans

  • Does anyone own a classic t-shirt? I love my merino base layers but they're too tight/underwear looking to wear as an everyday t-shirt.

Thinking €50 in the sale is still pretty steep for a t-shirt

  • Do fuck off. Just because you're such an enormous tart that you can't be seen in last seasons 'must wear' item, doesn't mean it's obsolete. Moreover, the comic sans comparison- you can do better than that.

  • No different, more plentiful. Soho shop had sizes not listed on the website.

  • Hopefully it'll live up to the hype and the 'Sage Green' won't be too offensive. Still annoyed I missed the fluoro green but there we go.

    #firstworldproblems

  • Isn't the point that Gabba jackets are meant to be great (I don't have one, but would like one) whereas comic sans is just shit?

  • anyone going down to rapha store in next few days that could pick me up something and post it?

  • Sure. Pm me.

  • It's subjective; depends on its use really doesn't it? Comic sans is a perfectly good font for a child's birthday party invitation, but in very poor taste on a headstone. It's neither good, nor bad - it just is. There is a case to be made for correct context of pretty much anything design-wise, it just depends how good you are at rationalising it.

The whole 'comic sans is shit/good' thing is just people either being facetious, or lazy. See also, all the people who think Helvetica is boring. Etc.

Bringing it back to the present context - comparing a gabba to comic sans would only make sense if @Chalfie had asked "what's a really great hot weather base layer?"... Or something..

  • what's a really great hot weather base layer?

    PT mesh

  • Good bants up in this bitch

  • He says, browsing the Rapha thread on LFGSS.

  • Taking a break from the rollers?

  • A Gabba, like comic sans, is not particularly attractive but does serve a purpose. In the case of Comic Sans, it was developed for early readers/learning disabilities and I use it regularly at work (as a teacher). I think Gabbas are ugly as sin, and massively unflattering, but in terms of function they're brilliant.

  • I use Comic Sans for letters to HMRC, local government (particularly building planning offices), as well as resignation letters.

    Best font ever.

  • Function > form

  • Says the man who just bought a green wind jacket...

  • Well... slightly worried about how it's actually going to look when it arrives. Hoping for 'nicely pastel' rather than 'snot'.

  • Does anyone own a classic t-shirt?

the missus has two and they're one of her favorite shirts during winter,

although would not buy mens version because of fugliness

  • Last time I handed in my notice it was in Comic Sans. 100x better.

  • Like I'd wear rapha.
