I've seen tighter....

Keep coming back to this and thinking "I can get away with that", is there a rule/rule of thumb for how much clearance you need between tyre and fork?
-
• #29
Margins for the wheel to do a front skid with fork braking are possibly lower?

Wheel flex?

Just add a nail file and sanding paper to your tool kit.

Is the Enve GRD fork not ready soon?
-
• #33
That fork has become "believe it when I see it", nice though it would be to use.

What will make this different to your cx bike?
-
• #35
Different geometry, tube-set, clearances (or lack-thereof), bolt-thru at both ends, 1x11 Di2 rather than cable. Paint.

LOADS of room .. have you not visited HHSB thread?

1x11 Di2
Di1?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm guessing they were good to go and flatmount came along and threw a spanner in the works at the 11th hour. I had something drawn up with ADK before I left to Canadia - pretty much like the GRD (383mm a2c/50mm offset - essentially splitting the diff. between road 368mm and CX 397mm) but with flatmount and 12mm thru-axle. Had conventional mudguard eyelets at the dropouts too as the flatmount caliper is smaller and sits higher up the fork leg vs. PM meaning the stays had plenty of room to pass under and gives the best brace position for the guard. Designed it around 32c and 45-50mm guard. Can email the drawing through if you want a gander?

Yes please, that'd be great. Advice on a shop in (guessing) Taiwan that could produce low-volume would also be great!

Im sad because i was convincing myself (against my better judgement) my wheel tyre fork combo would be fine but as it turns out its more or less an interference fit between the tyre and underside of the crown

ENVE GRD confirmed as MIA - a new version will be announced at NAHBS.
Which means it's highly doubtful that I can use that.
Goddamn forks!

Sram chainring, rotor cranks and a mixed shimano group? Whats wrong with Campag?
-
• #49
I think the Force ring will look quite nice with the XTR mech, and I need the Rotor cranks for the SRM.

I'm at £1,180 for that lot without the Rotor crankarms.
Test fitted Strada Bianca/ENVE 29er rim/Whiskey No 9 RD bolt-thru fork:
Sadly I think that's a little too tight.
