Just been having a rather heated debate, as to what is, and isn't a foul, vis a vis the "He touched the ball defence"
My view is, (And always has been, whatever the circumstances)
A good tackle is one that means the forward ends up without control of the ball because of the way the defender plays the ball (Either he moves it out of range of the forward being able to play it, or he traps it). If after winning the ball, the he ends up in a position where the forward falls over him, then that is part of the tackle.
If a defender touches the ball slightly, then trips a forward who can no longer get to a ball 3 feet away, that he could get to before being tripped, then its a foul.
I'd be interested on other peoples' views (As long as they match mine)
For the record, I don't expect Pisti to see eye to eye with me on this today.
