  • @jim1985 fancy doing that ^ together one evening?

    #reportedforgrooming

  • 10 laps of college road.

  • Ha, last time I did that I managed 4.

  • I would happily join on this. No mojo right now.

  • I'm solo babysitter till the second half of Jan, but let's try to make it happen.

  • I've got to get right back in to something when I get back to the UK. That CCC is looming large.

  • Races are over in Jan..

  • I'm near Denmark Hill and would be up for your evening Kent adventures @jim1985 @mashton

I did something similar for a lot of last year in late summer and autumn, and it was great.

  • Cent Cols Challenge.

  • Ah. Just a few bumps for the mighty Dov.

  • I don't think anyone finds it 'easy'

Graeme has done two of them now and his opinion is that it's a war of attrition.

  • Right up your strasse then.

When are you back? Ride? Not seen you for agggess

  • I'm back on the 7th. Will ride that weekend!

  • Sounds good

  • I did college road x 8 this morning. It's fucking boring.

  • Bike was broken for over a month, fixed now.

I have lost most of my cycling fitness and all of my cycling mojo, add it to the fact that I haven't seen the sun in a good few weeks, just thick grey clouds daily here in Edinburgh.

I really can't bring myself to ride. My working days are spent planing rides for my days off, when they come around I bail on the plans. le sigh

  • it can be useful to have other people to ride with

  • Trying to maintain volume, nearly managing. But I simply can't bring myself to do a decent interval.

When it's not icy out I'm on the fixed gear.
When it's proper nasty I'm on the turbo with no gears due to a dead di2 battery.
I can't really run as my pelvis is weirdly locked.

It's all a bit Shit really.

  • I've lost my mojo for club rides. They get faster, I get older and slower.
I wouldn't mind being bailed out of the back whilst blowing like a whale - the fact is I never get there! I can't even get on the back!

Instead, I've now taken to getting up later on a weekend and go out for a 30 mile ride on my steamroller and call in for a pint on my way home. Result much happiness.
Old and slow is the way to go and I get to admire the flora and fauna of
my local areas. Basically I set myself the goal of being able to ride 50 mile
touring days in summer. I think I can keep this going for a while. It's liberating in that I don't have to buy the latest kit too.

  • Every time I try to ride my bike I think fuck that and put my trainers on and go running.

    I'm broken

  • nah, shit weather, shit roads=fuck this.

I took 6 weeks off and just now feel like riding again, but better for it I think as flogging yourself to go out on a ride isn't fun and probably isn't good for either brain or body.

    At least you're running?

  • You can squire my unbecoming self around decent rides around the 'burgh sometime soon if you're lucky as I might be moving over in Feb. That'll really take the shine of your recreational pleasure even if it does make you feel comparatively fit.

  • At least you're running?

Aye, been fair weather for that of late.

This time last year I had training plans, races and all sorts. But perhaps a break was due.

  • running.

Won't somebody think of your knees?
