  • I have been looking for a french post office bike ("La Poste") for a while and finally found one in the local ads while in France over Christmas.

One sturdy beast, however the rack is attached to the forks and not the frame so it isn't good enough for Champagne deliveries.

Here is the before picture, I will just clean it up, recable it "a l'anglaise" and service what needs servicing.

  • Definitely not - although I have removed the front wheel reflector making it circa 15 grams lighter...

New blue brake cables fitted, wheels trued and bearing greased, roller brakes serviced, Nexus 3 Speed kit removed as I don't have the 'prong' or 'plunger' that links the hub to the rear gear selector.

Just needs a new front tyre and smaller rear sprocket.

EDIT: Front tyre fitted - A 24x1.75 budget one (8,95€) and also found an 18t Nexus rear sprocket at my LBS which is still too big but hey, at 3€, it is still better than the 22t that was fitted.
The bike will be back in London this weekend so be easily be spotted...
