  • Nah, it's a barely usable rubber-keyed keyboard, nothing to see here. Or anywhere else, to be honest.

  • Not quite. The keyboard is part of a radar system.

    Of course

  • Any thoughts on this Tutor

Basically I'm on the hunt for a watch as a present. Wish list is comparatively large for a girl... so I'm thinking 30-36mm
"Vintage" looks and some patina are fine. I took a punt on a nice looking old Tissot but quite like the look of this. No redial apparently.

  • Looks all correct, but I suspect that's a plated brass case. For me, I'd be wanting a stainless one for that sort of money. There are lots of watches which fit this criteria, so you can afford to pick what you want.

  • The chrome plate (and more to the point the wear to it) is what stopped me going for it.

Whereas the Tissot I picked up has a ropey dial, random crown, but at least is SS, automatic, and only £55... and from the photos has plenty of "character". I guess I'll see when it arrives. I just thought as it's a present something with and Omega or Tutor logo might be more appropriate.

  • An Omega is possibly a safer bet than a Tudor of that era as the case won't ever be brass and generally speaking, spares are easier to get a hold of. If it's going to be worn daily then it makes sense to have it serviced, so in some ways it doesn't matter too much if it has no service history, as long as it runs "ok".

  • Suggestions for places to get a strap shortened and have more holes punched? Ideally in Westminster? Not sure if its possible to shorten a strap.

    My wrists are small.

  • Hello watch folks. My step brother is looking for a new watch. He wants a classic, vintage style watch with modern durability. Is there a stand out at c£200? The other stipulation is that he wants 36mm or smaller for the face..cheers

  • Sounds like a Seiko 5 to me.

plus a nice leather strap. Pocket the £130 change and enjoy small, timeless, worry-free mechanical goodness.

  • New watch for the lady...

  • Can anybody recommend a decent quality steel shark mesh bracelet in 20mm? hard to see the wheat from the cheap chaff on ebay.

  • Daniel Wellington that my girlfriend got me for Christmas. Unexpected present but I'm liking it.

  • Nice watch.

I got one of their straps and to be honest, I don't like the quality. I hope the watch is better.

  • New Casio G-Shock Android Wear watch. Got two screens in one, colour can last a day, black and white over a week apparently.

  • Got myself a Seiko SNZG15. Really nice watch for the price!

  • ^nice!

  • I really like mine. I really should wear it more.

  • Am currently trying to source one of these, Sinn 756 S.

If anyone sees one, let me know!

  • Love these, I've been considering one for a while. How big is your wrist?
Mine are a smidgen over 7". I'm not a big fan of huge watches, worried the SNZG15 might be a little on the large side. Is it 42mm including the crown?

  • Cheers, the strap is average quality and I wouldn't pay full price for it. The watch is much better, impressively light and thin (6mm) compared to my others.

  • It doesn't wear big. For me anyway. My wrists are similar size to yours.

  • Damn it!

I was convinced I only wanted one more watch, better make that two...

  • Got this a few days ago. I've had a few Seiko's before but this is my first GS. Very pleased with it although I'm still getting used to the size.
