  • Weighs 3kg.

Feathery. Mine ended up being 3.88kg, but it has a rather longer wheelbase and of course it doesn't have any carbon. Fingers crossed they like them...

  • Getting rid of the monstrous stem and bars will drop the weight quite a bit, the other thing to bear in mind is that with such short lengths, I don't think I've saved any weight over nice light steel tubes, what with the lugs and glue and all that.

If they don't like them they'll be up for sale in the new year. The children that is.

  • This is how everyone else's bikes look to me.

  • You know what you gotta do?

Get them to hold the bike above them and take a snap, obviously if you hadn't sold them yet.

  • This one's light enough, pedal bike may need some assistance...

  • Hurry up and finish the pedal one! Looking forward to seeing the pics!

  • Little one needs foot pegs mounted beneath seat tube for epic coasting/footplant skills.

    Astounding work as ever.

  • I did think about it, but decided the less stabby things on it the better. Second born is a real brute, and fear she will be being a lot more brutal with this than the first born was with hers.

  • HHSKB.

    Love it!

  • So so so cool! Saw one of your bikes today, was loovely. But pretty much everything you make from now on wont be as cool as that. Hope you realise this...

  • Which one out of interest? To be honest they have taken up so many evenings, and brain space, that at the moment I'd be happy to never see them again, and lancing boils for a living would be cooler. Hopefully this will fade!

The bike is "nearly" finished. I had made a custom V brake for the rear, but the pro max is working better, but that needs custom pads to work, which I will do tonight. There is so little space down there, everything has to pay along to get the wheels and cranks turning. As you can imagine, nothing played along.

  • A lady on small blue road bike, with that new fork thing you've done.

    Similar to @laner 's one

  • That would be Mrs @amey

  • Data protection prevents me from confirming.

  • Aaaaaaaannd, done.

  • That is incredibly awesome.

I love that all your bike shots are taken in the same spot. There's something satisfying about the consistency of the location which wouldn't be the same if it were in a studio somewhere.

  • Best build thread for a while - well done Sir.

  • I dunno... those tyres aren't very sparkly

  • Shot of the chainstays mounted brake. It's fair to say that working out how to, and then actually making it work took longer on its own than a simple frame would take to build entirely. So little room, so much shouting.

When did you start making "simple" frames..?

  • And why would you want to make simple frames?

  • Someone told me that's how long it takes ;)
