I cracked a rim on my maverick Kysruim's yesterday. does anyone know if I'd be able to lace the hubs to a set of 60mm Chinese carbon clincher rims?
-

Kysrium hubs are proprietary as hell, so you'll struggle to get spokes to fit.

Today in London was the perfect opportunity to test this in Regents Park and can confirm 55mm U shaped rims are still pretty sweet when it's blowing a hoolie.
The triathlete who was on Enve 8.9 was not so happy. Mental.

Hi everyone! I want to build a wheelset with the best orient express rims. But can't decide which one. Can you help me out? Light bicycle or Asian Cycle Express or a diffrent brand I don't know?

I wonder: Do Light Bicycle rims have reinforced spoke hole to prevent possible cracks there like Asian Cycle Express? Did anyone here check these rims for this aspect of matter? Or is there anyone who had issues with crack(s) around spoke holes?

The wide rims from ACE see to have a sweetspot around 60mm. No adverse handling issues in side winds, An amazing smooth ride, and hopefully lots of aero.

I'm still looking for a carbon road bike frame disc-ready in 60cm............ it's seems to be Mission Impossible. Could someone help me?
Just something reliable around 400euros, without thru-axle. -
• #3939
this seems nice but it does have thru axle

Yeah, pretty nice indeed!!
But the main problem is that i already have a disc ready wheels with front dyno hub and carbon rims ... -

okay so these
are shit. do not buy, on clamping they dont increase compression like a quick release should. complete crap

Any recommendations for a budget road (rim brake) wheel set? Ideally cartridge bearing (Novatec or similar) to eyeletted alloy rims. For a commuting winter bike.
Shimano 10 speed freehub.Seems to be a lot of Carbon rimmed stuff which I don't trust and seems overkill for a comutter (it'll eat pads as it is I'd imagine).
Or would these be a better bet?

http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/WPCAKHAM/campagnolo-khamsin-wheelset and in the UK.Its for my brother in law. He has some Hope Hoops but uses them on his carbon bike, needs something cheaper for the commuter. Thanks.

Mine came from eBay. They're also shit. Came undone on me on the last ride and have now found themselves in landfill

Has anyone fitted 28mm tyres to a FM066 / Planet X RT-90 ?
-
• #3946
Should be ok

• #3947
Cheers, will give it a whirl.

OK so you have purchased your deep sexy Chinese carbon clinchers.
Now they have filled up with water from riding in the rain. what next?
Surely I don't have to remove tyres and tubes after every proper wet ride?
sigh

Did you forget to drill drainage holes? 2-3 per rim should do.
-

make sure to do it on the braking surface for maximum effect
The outer width aero thing is related to tyre width, and yaw angle. The fatter shape helps handling in side winds too.
So if you ran skinny tyres on a day with zero wind. Fatter may mot be faster.
