I stopped using bepanthen after 5 days as I always do. The bumps have come up since and are certainly psoriasis plaques. Guessing the tat is basically healed so using my psoriasis treatment on the bumps. Hopefully they'll pass soon enough.

Have kept in touch with Raph Cemo over the past few months since he did my cover up sleeve. He's out in Canada now, but back in europe for the Milan convention in Feb. He's asked if i want to go over and get my back done in colab with him and Marco Marini in the two days before the convention.
Cant decide. Having my whole back double gunned in two days will be super tough, but the travelling back home afterwards is kinda putting me off. I'd be going out on my own too, as GF will be working, so no one to help me dress it at night/carry my bags etc!
Am really stuck for a decision!

Went for a touch up at Good Times today with NOON and next thing I know, I paid a deposit for a new appointment in July. The consultation lasted 2o seconds and consisted of 3 sentacnes in total... What have I done now?
A serious question, which bit of the leg hurt the least?
-
• #10585
as a matter of fact, the leg I intent to have the tatt done, that kneecap is fucked with funny sensation all round anyway (there is some nerve ends damage from the last op I had), so it might not be a bad idea... but no, I am more thinking abou above the kneecap... depends on the size, I might want it done on the calf, is that a sore spot? Compare to ankle?

I've had each calf done. On the muscle. No pain at all. Recommended. The last one strays onto my ankle/Achilles tendon, that got a bit twitchy, but nothing approaching pain or soreness.

I've only got part of below the knee done but compared to everywhere else on the leg I've had tattooed (hip to knee, all around the thighs) it was a piece of cake. i'd second what stevep said and go for the calf if you're looking for the least pain, but tbh i think you should go for wherever you actually want the tattoo over that. you might find after us saying all this that you have different sensitivities. also, different parts of my thighs hurt different amounts so ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
tl;dr ascending order of pain, probably: calf, thigh, childbirth, kneecaps

I would like to have something done on my ribs. In how much pain will I be?
-
• #10589
General consensus would be quite a bit. Apparently.
Depends on pain thresholds though, I guess.

any bone under the skin is going to hurt, as @b&d says it depends on your pain threshold and how much work is going over it.
in my experience, ribs hurt, hip bone kills...

Heading back to Japan this year with partner and child this time. Have looked into getting my tattoo finished while there, but it'd mean missing out on Kyoto for five hours each day I'm there. It'd be great to get the piece finished by same artist, but not sure I'm willing to make the sacrifice. Pretty disappointed. Is it sacrilegious to get someone else to finish a piece started by another artist?

How big is your tattoo?

Calf. I could just leave as is tbh and get someone local to work on similar for other leg. I know this is a bit of a "not really an issue" issue, but there's a bit of weighing up to do.

My calves were terrible.
After speaking to others, this is often the case.
Least painful part of my body was the front of my thighs just above kneecaps.
Calves were really uncomfortable, not sure if j made a mistake having them both done in the same session.
No pain no gain though.

My calves were fine although did start to shake a bit. Thigh is easy peasy.

I had this done and it wasn't that painful as such, but my leg just couldn't control itself and kept twitching, so just wondered how does it compare to the more center / back of the leg...
And I have 2 pieces lined up this year - 1 is going to the thigh as it's big ish, the other is probably about hand size so it could go anywhere really, still got plenty of skin going...

I have my outer thigh done and it was fine, got a little painful over the hip but below that was fine. No twitching.

I have a toy robot similar location to ExTra, more uncomfortable laying in an awkward position than getting tattooed.
Also have outer thigh, did all day with minimal fuss.Wife has both feet and both calves done, feet were the worst and calves not great but ok (all day on each leg)
HTFU, tattoos 'hurt' for a few hours but y0I have them for life.
The most pain I've had from a tattoo is funny bone. Elbows are fine (outer and inner and outside edge, no bother, inside = grim)
Planning on getting a knee done this year, bears head, wearing a party hat.
