  • The title says it all. Will keep frame only and sell all the rest. And slowly building it properly.

None of the pictures below are my own...haven't seen any of them yet actually :) but been gathering them in the last few weeks...

  • Keeping the Campag 'wedgie' seatpost and adding dura ace?

  • The seatpost will be a keeper of course, given the frame nature.

Yeah probably going Dura Ace 7400 again (I have the same groupset on the Somec) but it depends on what I can find and money.

  • Or go for a Campy Record 95...

  • Awesome Anidel! Another piece to add to the Moser collection ;)
I personally would look for a period correct stem, the rest is good!

  • Thanks @Breso!

For now that stem will do, will see what will show up.

  • Hi friend!
I know those gipiemme wheels...:) I'm also working to a moser leader ax light and dark green!
I will assemble it with complete shimano dura-ace 7410 and gipiemme 416 wheels like you :)

    good luck for your project!

  • Those GPM were sold NOS from a guy in Puglia. I shall bring them home from Italy after Christmas.

Nice yours too! pictures? is it in the Current Projects as well? already got the parts ?

  • This one! I found the bike with complete Shimano ultegra 9 speed...but I have a full dura ace 7410 groupset, itm stem and handlebar, gipiemme wheels :)

My wheels are from the same guy :) Lanfranco is a friend of mine!

  • yeah got the wheels from him who found this guy selling 7 pairs NOS! :)
He also sold me the Somec frameset .

So yeah, albeit I have the DA 7400 on my Somec, I think I might go with the same groupset on this. Or 7410.

  • A month has passed, but I haven't been standing :)

Sourced almost all the DA 7410 parts for the Leader AX, including SPD pedals, ITA bottom bracket and headset which are all on their way to London.

Wheels will be the GPM Tecno 416, but clincher, the tubular GPM set will be used on the Somec when I'd like to go for a ride on that.
Not sure yet which tyres to use, the Somec with the Lugano was going strong.

Also sourced a black ITM F.Moser stem (90mm) and a black ITM handlebar to go with it.
Only issue is that the handlebar is stuck within another black ITM F.Moser stem (130mm!!) which has a stripped nuts, so will have t.o find a way to unscrew that and free the handlebar. At least the set came for cheap (25 euro)

Coming from Canada is a set of Dura Ace cable set.
All in all this will really look like the attached image (including red Look pedals, tbut not the saddle or the white bottle holder!)

  • Gee, does this mean you are off-loading/have off-loaded the Moser, Somec and/or Chesini? Or you just got the capacity?

  • Off loaded one of the pink Moser I had in Italy and the blue Moser will probably go there in May or soon.
    No Chesini here unfortunately:-/

  • I thought I saw a Chesini on your Flickr photostream. Maybe I did but it wasn't yours?

You've still got the Somec, right? I like the Somec.

  • Yep The Chesini on my Flickr isn't mine. It was offered to me a bit after I got the blue Moser.

The Somec is my daily ride to work :) love it

  • Almost there

  • Good job

  • Thanks....missing the gear cables and it's complete.
It's too big for me though :/

  • Saddle height doesn't look particulary low though, why not consider mounting compact bars?

  • Is it a 'reach' issue, or too big generally? You could raise the stem an inch, which would bring the bars closer?

  • Did you get that other one?

  • It is very big. Can barely jump on it. Tomorrow I'll complete it then will test and see. But 99% is too big. It is a 58 cm.

Stem is already 90mm and stem will be a bit higher than my usual. Saddle is at its lowest already.

@hhc yes, it's in Italy at my brother's. No idea of size yet but I suspect it's also too big.
