as good as they are, good luck with getting any reply from them before next Christmas. I have no doubt they work very very hard, but it's a known fact that they can be very rude, at least the front line / reception people are. They are funny with replying to any communication unless it's face to face. I have tried to set up a newspaper collection thing for them from a place where they would get rid of a fairly large amount of newspaper weekly, and it's literally about 3 mins down the road a couple of years back, it got to a point where I thought I was begging for a favour so I gave up... same goes to whenever I donate cat stuff to them. Just ordered about £80 worth of cat food to them few weeks back, asked them if they would let me know when it arrives safely, no reply. Called them after the delivery slot was gone, I got some very dismissive response - 'yap, we did... bye' A simple thank would have been nice. So be warned.
If you're outside the catchment area for Celia Hammond then there's a Cats Protection League branch in Bromley that you might get good results with. They'll also want to do a home visit.
You could adopt Eva and Peanut! Just look at these faces! http://www.cats.org.uk/bromley/adopt-a-cat/?cid=130143
