Ok - judging by the level of interest £600 is too rich.
How about £550?

You could not give the bike away at this time of year.

Tell him straight! It's a nice bike in a colour I've not seen before but too much. Crowd for downtube shifters limited too. I'd say 250-350.

Price is not the issue just is is not a good time to sell a bike now.
-
• #8
Kind of, but almost everything has a price. I'll buy it, if it's cheap enough.

Ludwig - you're right - terrible time of year to sell anything that doesn't have tinsel attached.
and yes epilepticfridgeboy I know downtube shifters might not appeal - i like them as it means you can run unorthodox bar/ brake combos very easily and i've got other bikes that I'd use when i'd need to change gear quickly - also they remind me of my misspent youth!
Re: the price - forum rules dictate that I have to list one but I'm happy to listen to offers - no idea what this ought to fetch - try me.

Possible dibs for a friend.

Actually it's not forum rules that you have to list a price, it's only advisory.
-
• #13
I'd probably buy it for £250....

I have had a few Look,s over the years they are great bikes from an innovative company. The 176 is a great example of early carbon technology, the alu forks make for a very comfortable ride (like the Vitus) Change to brifters and you have a very nice bike that will eat miles quickly and comfortably I would price this bike £360.

Thanks for the feedback all - genuinely not trying to rip anyone off here.
Will come back with a revised price based on the size of my space crisis and possible split scenarios.

Since when have down-tube shifters become such a negative aspect around these parts? Time of year aside, I reckon it's worth at least £400. GLWS and all that.

Well ironically the reason I started this build in the first place was the purchase of the Modolo levers at a cycle jumble! I just love the design and remember them being the 'in thing' when I was a kid. Infact I've just fitted another pair to my Fixed Condor. Funny how an impulse bargain can lead to months of part sourcing and deliberation and tuning.
It was a challenge getting some NOS indexed 8 speed Campag levers to match but they do work nicely. Shift is sweet and the front mech is like a switch - bit like my two speed Brompton - off the lights in small ring once up to speed cruise in the big ring.
