I'd be hassling them to come up with a treatment plan to get your baseline PF up to a respectable figure and a plan which lets you medicate up to at least 90% of your baseline given normal triggers, in your case going for a ride in cool conditions. Even if these things are not achievable, you should at least have exhausted the possibilities in trying to achieve them.
