The rails on the classic flite model were also changed at some point, to give more adjustability.
On older Flites the part of the rails that should be clamped is angled upwards (towards the front) a little. On the newer (and reissue) models this part is more parallel to the top of the saddle and extends further forward.
Flite (rails) was designed for a setback seatpost if I remember correctly.
