  • So do I, though it only recently took a Cervelo turn.

  • Only as a Sunday best.

  • I love alloy frames (mainly as they're cheaper!!)

The T1 is about twice the price of a PX Carbon :-)

  • RS81 is same rim + spokes + hub with just a Titanium freehub body, extra polished bearing races and DA level skewer for the extra money.

  • Yeah I've heard they are quite good. I have some rs21s on my steel 'beater' and they are bullet proof.

  • Should really finish mine off

What's holding you back? Still some stuff to do/buy?

You're not (just) going to put the wheels and chainset of your PX on there?

  • You're not (just) going to put the wheels and chainset of your PX on there?

Neither fits, the Raltech covers hit the inside of the chainstay and the Vigorellis hit the outside

  • Are there any dentists actually on this thread?

  • Yeh buts it's much nicer looking and feels quite stiff.

  • I use a FFWD disc on my Plasma which is geared but it's a very narrow wheel and has to be as the chain stays are very tight. Clearance is minimal with a 22mm tub.

  • If you want to add some comfort. I'd go for some wide profile carbon tubulars. I'm pretty amazed by my ACE rims. They just seem to absorb buzz. The roads I ride are far less stabby than UK roads perhaps. So tubular works for me.

Otherwise if it were me I'd be looking into a Road tubeless setup.

  • In race pose (T4). The second T4 will eventually be used on the road as an upgrade to my track converted P2C (which I'll then use for bunch training/racing).

  • @xavierdisley I see you're running the Hed Trispoke. Any idea how one would work with my Plasma 3 forks?
    Always fancied a Trispoke.
    It'll be for testing btw.

  • Not me although I have been to one several times over the years.

  • Anyone own an r3? I see a lot of talk about how amazing the r5 is... how does the r3 compare?

  • I have an R2, possibly the same frame used by the R3. Lovely bike!

  • Trispokes tend to work well in well designed bikes so you're unlikely to be giving up time, do make sure you have a narrow tyre on it, if it's clincher then put a Conti Supersonic 20mm on.

The H3D in that picture (it's the deep one, not a standard trispoke) is as fast as a front disc in the T4, but easier to handle and lighter.

  • Thanks mate. A lot of climbing wheels have weight limits which I'm either on, or over.
Ive found some Tune TSR 27s for £400 on bike24. Although they only weight 1440g, maximum rider weight is 110kg so they should be bomb-proof

  • I've had a mig/mag hub pairing for years. Just upgraded the bearings and rebuilt them into some shallow alu tubular rims for mountain use. Their third set of rims. Solid hubs.

  • It would have to be a tub version. I think the Plasma 3 is a pretty tidy frame and well designed so I might go looking in the new year.
    Lovely bike BTW.

  • I have one, get in touch in the new year if you are still looking.

  • So as a temporary measure I've put on some Planet X ct45s. Never ridden wide profile (23mm) wheels b4

  • Oh cheers for that. I may well be in touch.

  • This is the S3 build with silly forks. Need to sort out the gear cable routing as the frame got drilled for Di2 and I had to rejig everything

  • Those forks are appalling, rest is quite nice (apart from the campag). Nuke from orbit.
