I've got a similar battery pack for a magic shine copy light, I've also seen the scary images of them blowing up ! I charge in it a fire proof Lipo-safe bag that are about £5 on eBay. I also don't leave it unattended, charging overnight etc
Although the batteries are a bit ropey in terms of quality control and build I think the main danger is from the AC adapters provided which don't appear to regulate or transform the mains power or sense when the battery is fully charged. I bought a proper magic shine charger and haven't had a problem in 2 years .
I've got a light I got off DealExtreme yeeeeeeeeears ago, which has a battery pack like this:
Should I be concerned about charging it? Having seen various stories concerning unlabelled batteries catching light, blowing up etc.
