• Though this question is a bit besides the point, what kind of width tyres?

    If the rim diameter is appropropriate for 700c tyres then it's only 700c tyres that will work on these rims when we're talking about bead seat diameter.
    Anyway, interesting thing this 650v, if confusing. I'm gonna ask Graham at Vintage Bike Cave to see if he knows anything about what the designation may mean.

    I reckon (but don't know) that it may refer to the voltage used for the anodizing, since anodizing requires an electric current to be passed throught the object, right?

  • Interesting idea, but I don't know enough about anodisation processes to say, as in, what would be the voltage necessary for a 700c rim.
    This is something I will be looking into soon, coincidentally, as I want to remove the anodising from some old hubs and perhaps anodise them a different colour.
