Anyone used a oxo barista brain grinder? Grinds by weight (not time) which is a feature I'd rather like.

Hasbean Steve's secret stash subscription is open, should have been limited to 300 subscribers though I have taken 3 slots for myself.

Is it good then?

I have really enjoyed it this year. The idea is that it is from small farms that Steve has visited and enjoyed their product, but that there he did not or could not buy enough to make it a generally available coffee. So it's 12 different single origin beans. I find subscribing to 250g bags frustrating as it can take a few shots to dial a coffee in, so I get 3x250 of this and 3x250 of the bella barista single origin subscription.
the coffee nerd lfgss equivalent have this to say

it is initially made available to people who already have a hasbean subscription (or to people who know to go and search for it on their website, and then is more publicly listed in about a week or so.

Got my machine and grinder. I'm buzzing, literally.
Any good guides to getting doings and grind right?

Matt Perger did a whole series of blogs a while back that explain everything really well IMO. Worth a dig around on http://www.baristahustle.com to find them.

Gaggia classic question: I've been descaling and backflushing the machine almost every week since I bought it on here; it was working fine with its quirks but last week after the usual descale and backflush it stopped working; the steam function is working fine but no water flow from boiler; I even took out the solenoid valve, cleaned and descaled it; what may be the issue?
Its an old machine here are some pics of its internals.

Pump fubarred? Steam comes out under it's own pressure doesn't it? Have you tried flushing water thru steam wand?

Have you tried flushing water thru steam wand?
Yep; works fine.
-
• #11494
Has the pump been making any unusual noises recently?
-
• #11495
So, you can pump water out of the steam wand but not through the group head? That would either be a grouphead blockage or a 3-way, but you've already checked the 3-way.
I'd use bottled water. Easier, and better coffee.

Well unusual noise yes; whether its pump or something else I dont know. Last time I descaled and backflushed; it got 'blocked' for a brief period and then started working (even better) after I tried it overnight. Now when I press the coffee button it makes almost a blocked sound. Will post a video for top lolz later if required.

Why aren't you using bottled water anyway?!

If you're happy with @laner 's suggestion, I got Hario in N4 and heading to work in about 30 min.
