As I understand it the later firmware updates, prevent the SM-ew67-a-e from playing nice with the battery.
-
• #1403
Well that's not nice.
Can I use e-tube to customize without updating firmware?
It seems like I need to update to "move on" when using the charger to connect.
-

Apparently shimano did this on purpose.
I get the option of Skipping updates. But that's for the entire software.
-
• #1405
Ok
Do you use the "PC interface"(PCE1) or the charger? (BCR2)
-
• #1406
Charger.
-
• #1407
Ok.
I can't seem to skip it. :-(
-
• #1408
I have to skip that. It looks fir newer version in a room with no Internet.
Once it has newer versions, I'm not sure I could skip installing these on my components though.
-
• #1409
Ok. My PC already found newer versions.
I bought a 2nd hand bike with di2. (November)
I installed the software recently. (December)
Now I want to customize settings for shifting etc.
I thought everrything would be so easy...

Am I going to need the medium or the long cage XTR mech for a 10-42 cassette?
-
• #1411
Long.
Medium only does 11-36t i believe. -
• #1412
At least that's true of XT.

Hello lovely people,
I'm currently building a new bike (well, mostly in my mind for now). It will have 9070 Di2, and Flat Mount disc brakes (yay!). Reading this thread, I learned a few bad things:
-I will have to use the 785 levers (hydro+electronics). These dont have the secret buttons for the Garmin.
-I cant use sprint shifters, as these are special snowflakes with a specific connecting port you only find on cables levers.
-If I want to use a climbing shifter, I need the 5 ports junction box. Again, because of the 785 levers. No additional port, no special port for sprint shifters, no hidden button...
Seems like they suck, no?But something could save me. I heard Di2 is fully customizable. So I could use the left lever for the rear derailleur, and the right one for front shifting? Is this possible?
Also, do I need specific and expensive stuff to do so, or my bike and a PC is enough? Many Thanks.

You just plug it into your pic, and assign functions to whatever buttons you have.
I have the rearmost paddles working the rear mech, and the front switches working the front mech. Weird having each lever operating both mech at first. But it's incredibly intuitive.

When can I buy a shimano disc road caliper buy itself? Maybe in london town. My rear one went bye bye.

in what way? mine became sticky and i brought them back to life with a bit of alcohol to clean and then relubed with break fluid
-
• #1417
Piston broke. Cracked some how and then just squirted brake fluid everywhere.
-
• #1418
how old are they - could it be a warranty replacement?
what caused it to crack?i have a feeling the calilper is the same as for an XT mtb brake, except the pistons in the road ones are ceramic - but you may need to check
-
• #1419
Properly me using a screwdriver to push the pistons back into place and not an approved tool during it's life.
It's had like 20,000 miles on it. I'm happy to pay £30 to get a new one. I just need some sooner, as otherwise i'll be doing endos everywhere to stop!

evans did have them in stock earlier this year, part code EV220542-NA-BLK but i cant find them now
-
• #1421
Thanks. I'll call around shops in the morning, someone might have one.
-
• #1422
i think the problem will be finding the post mount caliper now
-
• #1423
TBF a screwdrivers shouldn't have cause this, as it's pretty hard to crack a piston.
Your is nothing compared to this customer's;

The question was shopping related.
I have Br r785 and use SM-ew67-a-e as junction a.
(It's smaller)
If I update firmware will I still be able to use SM-ew67-a-e?
